Shaw Center

Field Trip to the Shaw Center for the Arts

















LSU operates the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floor of the new Shaw Center located in downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The 3rd floor is 2,000 sq.ft. and houses the administration for the shaw center. The 3rd floor conference area (800 sq.ft.) and small gallery area can be rented out for $225 an hour. Currently the 4th floor is just a roof terrace, and the 5th floor holds the LSU Museum of Art. Which houses a traviling work area that rotates every three months.

The 6th floor houses a restuarant named Tsunami, and the Irene W. Pennington Rooftop Terrace Sculpture Garden. The sculpture garden is open to the public, but can be rented out for $500 an hour.















The first floor of the Shaw Center contains the Manship Theater.
- 325 seat theater (or can be 308 seats - front row drops down for full orchestra or apron).
- 52 seats on 3rd floor (two rows)
- 57 seats in the theater can be removed to accommodate wheelchairs
- full stage - 60ft. above
- 16' x 22' drop down screen
